No, no, no Wal Marts. Plenty of open air or covered markets. They are eclectic, fun, and smell just as I remembered from 40 years ago. They are everywhere. There is one or two upscale western style department stores. And in Can Tho there was a store very much like the Ben Franklin Five and Dime or an early Woolworth. I really did like the color at the markets. Take your chance, though, if you are a westerner on eating the food. You'll see what I mean.
